Collaboration highlighted in ACS Publication

August 12 2025

Unity4Water’s commitment to advancing sustainable water management is built on strong collaboration between research, industry, and education. A recent example of this is the publication of a scientific article co-authored by project leader Monica Odlare in the Journal of Chemical Education, part of the American Chemical Society (ACS).

The article, titled Academia-Industry Collaboration: Water Chemistry and Environmental Education, explores innovative methods for integrating sustainability into chemical engineering education. Its publication in a well-established, peer-reviewed journal reflects the importance of connecting scientific research with real-world applications.

For Unity4Water, such collaborations are essential. They create opportunities to share knowledge across disciplines and to develop solutions that are both technically sound and practically relevant. By engaging with the international scientific community, the project strengthens its ability to address pressing water challenges – from local initiatives in Sweden to global issues.

– Collaboration is at the core of Unity4Water’s work. Working together with partners from different fields ensures that we not only generate valuable research but also make it applicable and impactful, says Monica Odlare, project coordinator and professor at Mälardalen University.
